Ok, we have started work on getting NMEA autopilot sentences out of SkyDemon, and we would like to explore the Bluetooth option.
vikino, are you still willing to test this? What's your current recommendation for a Bluetooth-to-RS232 device? We will need to purchase one/some for testing in our office, and figure out a good way of testing that the data really is getting to the RS232 feed from the device.

+xHello Tim, Maybe not a lot of people are mentioning this, but i think a lot of people would like to have this. We would like the options for the G5 the gamin auto pilot and the AT-1 together with the setup for the radio.
That exactly what i think too, and what i want to get... Then you dont have to feed g5 or any AP with gps like garmin aera...

No news at the moment. It simply isn't something that is requested a great deal, so at the moment we are busy on other things.

+xIf you could assure us that a bunch of pilots had purchased that device and confirmed it was working with their equipment, we could perhaps schedule some development time to investigate sending data to it. Tim, this is how Aera works on a single RS232 port, exacstly this way could SD work over BT-RS232 Controlling AP, COM freq and receiving traffic data...

+xHello Tim & Vikino,
I like a lot SD for my flight missions and will be very happy if SD will drive my AP via basic NMEA / 232. I have basic configuration: G5 + GMC507 + 2 x GSA28, just wait for SD to be connected in some way 🙂 ( I don't want AERA )
Will be happy to help !

Hi Tim, next what you can easily integrate is AirTraffic AT-1 which you already support, but over wifi... This would be great also over RS232, which is standard wired in avionics... You can use some simple window in "third party devices" - bluetooth, there you select BT-RS232 adapter and tick what equipment you have on rs232 connected, like Autopilot, COM radio, AT-1 (TRX-1500) and it could easily work with SD without thinking about only one device what i connect over wifi I can help you with develop, just leave me message.

I have tested it on Garmin, KRT2, Trig and Funke radios, and Dynon EFIS D100 + AP40 autopilot and works fine. I know about at least 5 pilots who whould appreciate this, when i tell someone that garmin can send freq to radio, they need it in skydemon too
